Essential Young Guinea Pig Food is a high-fibre alfalfa food enriched with essential nutrients for growing, pregnant or nursing guinea pigs. Growing guinea pigs need more protein, calcium and energy. Young Guinea Pig provides an optimal, balanced source of protein that contains the amino acids necessary for the growth and health of young guinea pigs. Use: Young animals (under 6 months old): They should be fed pellets daily in addition to hay. Adult animals (over 6 months old): Feed approximately 1/8 cup of pellets daily in addition to hay as desired. Pregnant or nursing guinea pigs: Feed pellets daily in addition to plenty of hay. Lucerne can be given in small quantities.
