Delicate pinkish-white, urn-shaped flowers appear in spring, followed by bright red berries that persist into fall and winter. The evergreen leaves often take on attractive bronze and reddish-purple tones during colder months, providing year-round interest. Growing only 6–12 inches tall while spreading 3–6 feet or more, Bearberry is an excellent choice for sandy soils, shoreline plantings, rock gardens, woodland edges, slopes, and difficult sites where other plants struggle. Its low-growing habit helps stabilize soil and suppress weeds while creating a natural, attractive groundcover.
