Unlike traditional turf grass, this sedge forms loose colonies of arching green blades that create a gentle, meadow-like appearance beneath trees and along shaded garden edges. In early spring, subtle tan flower spikes emerge, adding seasonal interest while blending seamlessly into naturalistic landscapes. Mature Size and Form: Pennsylvania sedge typically grows 8 to 12 inches tall with a spread of 12 to 24 inches.
