Aix - PJ Nolan
ID: #485444
Description
Aix is a contemporary collection that recalls the original flooring of an 18th century French villa. Formed of ancient calcareous stones used as a matrix and recovered one by one in sheets of various size. The stones, which vary in pattern and colour, are the model that reproduces an irregular and patchy stone surface, complete with markings and shading that enhances the appeal of footprints in time. Clearly referencing the European design culture for stone, the perfect symbiosis between architecture and nature, Aix comes in a range of colours to fit different contexts: warm colours linked to the Mediterranean architectonic culture of French and Italian villas, immersed in the countryside; colder tones for the feel of ancient houses across Ireland and Great Britain.
