Description
Acer palmatum 'Mikawa Yatsubusa' Japanese maple has delicate leaves on multi branched, compact stems that grow closely together and overlap one another like roof shingles, producing a dense leaf cover and nearly spherical form. New yellow-green foliage has red tips and turns medium green with age. In fall, brilliant fiery red and darker leaves create a dramatic show. Ideally a small space, courtyard or new water. Prefers a cool site with moist, well-drained woodland soil. Light: full sun to part shade Soil: well drained, moist garden soil Height at maturity: 6' Width at maturity: 4' Growth habit: dwarf bush Growth rate: 3 - 6" per year Zones: 5 - 9 Pro tip: maples dislike wet feet so be sure to plant in well drained soil Images are used for general reference only.
