Description
Sorbaria sorbifolia, otherwise known as the "Ash Leaf False Spirea" and "Ural False Spirea" is an upright shrub with dark green, fern like foliage that turns shades of pink and bronze. Fall foliage is bright red orange. It suckers and spreads freely. Creamy white flowers resembling Astilbe appear on new wood. Heat and drought tolerant once established. Blooms: late spring to mid summer Light: full sun to part shade Soil: well drained, regular garden soil Spacing: 5 - 6' Height at maturity: 3-4' Fertilization: slow release feed in spring Pruning: prune back early each spring for best display Growth rate: 25" or more a year Zones: 2 - 11 Images are used for general reference only.
