STANLEY No. 17 Block Plane Type 7 1911-1920 In Good Condition, Antique! An amazing antique Stanley Block Plane No. 17, Type 7. Measures 7.0" x 2.0" x 3.0" Says "Stanley New Britain Conn. U.S.A." on blade. It is in good condition with a minor chip in the throat, which will not affect it's use. Approximately 75% japanning. Please examine images carefully to understand condition! Below information from Stanley Tools Guide to Identity & Value by John Walter n/a Features: Adjustable throat Type 7. 1911 - 1920 Type 7 trademark with the same features as Type 6A. Manufactured: between 1911 and 1920 Patents: Leonard Bailey's 8/6/1867 (cutter adjustment, block plane configuration)- Traut's 1/17/1888 (block plane lateral)- Traut's 7/24/1888 (disc pivot lateral)- Traut & Bodmer's 2/20/1894 (throat adjustment)- Traut's 8/3/1897 ("Hand-y" grooves)- Turnbull's 10/12/1897 (pivot lock lever cap) Dimensions: 7 inches long Cutter: 1-5/8 inches wide Construction: Cast iron, japanned, with nickel plated trimmings User info: Has a 20° cutter angle. This plane is used the same as a 9-1/2 plane but where a longer length is desired
