No two leaves are the same! The plants are loved by novice gardeners because it is easy to grow with low maintenance. Philodendron Birkin can grow in many places in your house. Interestingly, Philodendron Birkin do not exist in the wild, as it came to be by a spontaneous mutation in the Philodendron Rojo Congo at a greenhouse. The mutated leaf was separated and propagated. The foliage of young Birkin plants has a dominantly deep green color. The creamy-yellow strips develop at the later stages. Care tips Soil –Use rich, peat-based soil with water retaining capacity. Light – Philodendron Birkin likes bright indirect or shaded sunlight. Direct sunlight can damage the leaves. Water – These plants are not drought tolerant during the growing season. Keep the potting mixture thoroughly moist all the time during these seasons. In winter the soil should mostly dry out between waterings. Philodendron Birkin likes higher humidity and therefore it grows well in bathrooms. Temperature – Normal room temperatures are suitable for these plants.
