Description
Baby Blue® is a compact variety of blue spruce. It has excellent blue needles that hold their colour well. They're also small and slow-growing, making them great for gardeners who are low on space. Compared to Colorado blue spruce, Baby Blue® has denser, more uniform branching, thicker, bluer needles that intensify in colour as they age, a smaller mature size and slower growth. Spruces grow best in full sun with fertile, moist, slightly acidic, well-draining soil. They are drought-tolerant once established but appreciate regular waterings during dry periods. Newly planted trees benefit from winter protection for the first few years, especially in exposed areas.
