Description
Sugar Baby is an heirloom variety of watermelon that produces 7" round fruits with firm, sweet flesh and small black seeds. Harvest your watermelon when the skin turns a dull, almost black colour and the underside has turned creamy-yellow. Once ripe, your watermelon should sound hollow when tapped. Watermelons are warm-season crops and should only be planted once the soil and nighttime temperatures are reliably warm. They grow best in full sun with highly fertile, light, well-drained soil and consistent moisture, especially when developing fruit. Stop watering once your melons are about a week away from being harvested.
