Anthem builds electronics in Canada, and the Statement A2 is their two-channel reference power amplifier — 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms, 300 into 4. Anthem rates both channels driven simultaneously, which is how amplifiers actually operate, not the single-channel measurements that make spec sheets look more impressive than the product deserves. The power supply is oversized by design — a large toroidal transformer with sufficient reserve that the amplifier doesn't compress on dynamic peaks the way an undersized supply would. Class A/B topology, fully balanced XLR inputs alongside unbalanced RCA. The circuit design is straightforward in the best sense — high-quality components in a layout engineered for stability into difficult loads, not for impressive measurements at easy impedances.
