Portland, Oregon's beloved George Shoop, a great iris hybridizer, achieved his goal - to go out with a red, white, and blue iris, Last Laugh . Keith Keppel followed with the similarly colored Gypsy Lord , one of Gulfport's parents. We're very proud to be introducing our good looking Gulfport , a descendent of these 2 memorable varieties. Gorgeous white standards are achingly beautiful on their own, like getting lost staring into cumulus clouds. The falls have centers that are also blizzard white. Note in our photo the reddish-purple perimeter, a juicy color. Now it's getting bold and sassy! Plop a vibrantly colored beard down, orange with a gold tip. Now we have a showstopper! Another late bloomer, named for Gulfport, Mississippi, a thriving city on the coast, famous for its Fishing Rodeo. Some iris, like Gulfport , sparkle with an immediacy and a purity of expression.
