Description
Aerangis biloba is a small, elegant epiphytic orchid species native to West and Central Africa (including countries like Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon) often found up to ~700 m elevation in forested or plantation habitats. It is characterized by a monopodial growth habit (one stem, no pseudobulbs), with leathery leaves that are often bilobed (split into two lobes at the tip of the leaf) — hence the name biloba . The plant produces arching or pendent racemes of star‑shaped, waxy white flowers (2–4 cm across) with a long, pink or pale spur, typically in spring to summer. The blooms are fragrant (especially in the evening). Because of its compact size and graceful flower sprays it is popular among orchid collectors, particularly for mounting or terrarium culture. Short Care Guide Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh midday sun. East or shaded south/west windows are good. Too little light may reduce blooming; too much direct sun can scorch the leaves. Temperature: Intermediate to warm conditions suit this species. Daytime: approx. 20 ‑ 28°C (68‑82°F) Nighttime: down to ~15‑18°C (59‑65°F) It can tolerate a range — cooler nights help encourage blooms. Humidity & Airflow: High humidity (60–80% or more) is ideal, with good air circulation. The roots like to be moist but not water‑logged. Watering: Keep the roots moist during active growth, but allow them to “dry slightly” in between. Because it is epiphytic, mounting often gives best results (roots exposed). If potted, use a freely draining mix. Avoid letting the roots sit in soggy medium. Potting / Mounting: Mounting : Cork, tree‑fern slab or similar is a great option — roots will cling and you’ll likely get better flowering. Potting : Use an open coarse bark mix or similar, ensuring good drainage and airflow. Refresh medium when it breaks down.

It is extremely light and porous! It works wonders on species like Begonias that like a fluffy, quickly draining soil mixture. Philodendron hederaceum

Philodendron hederaceum is known for its versatility and durability in a variety of different spaces. With the proper care, it can be a fast growing during the spring and summer making it perfect for hanging baskets! The baskets are especially cute due to the heart shaped foliage. Care: We recommend weekly waterings typically as the soil is 1"-2" dry for this size. This will also do best in a bright filtered light. Although this is sold often as a low light plant, our definition of low light is what the plant needs to survive. A source of natural light somewhere in the room will keep this plant sustained and thriving. Usually we say if you can read a book in the room without the light on during the day it's usually enough light for this one. All of our plants are ethically sourced from certified U.S. nurseries. We strongly condemn the poaching of plants or wild collection.
