Bulbophyllum treschii
ID: #692909
Description
Bulbophyllum treschii is a miniature epiphytic orchid species native to Malaysia. It produces small ovoid pseudobulbs spaced along a creeping rhizome, each topped with a single erect leaf. The inflorescences are typically 4–9 cm long and bear several (6–9) simultaneously-opening flowers, showing an unusual and intricate structure. The colouration and form vary somewhat, but many blooms carry dark purple markings over white or pale ground. The species has become a favourite among mini-orchid enthusiasts for its compact size and distinctive flowers. Short Care Guide Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid strong direct sunlight – morning filtered light or a shaded east window works well. Temperature: Intermediate to warm-cool conditions: daytime around 21-28 °C (70-82 °F), nighttime not below about 15-16 °C (59-61 °F). Humidity & Airflow: High humidity (ideally ~70 % or more) with good air circulation to keep the leaves and rhizome healthy and to avoid rot. Watering: Keep the growing medium consistently moist but never water-logged. Because it is epiphytic, it appreciates frequent moisture and good drainage/mounting. Medium / Mounting: Best grown mounted on cork or tree-fern with a bit of sphagnum moss around the roots, or in a very open, moist potting mix (fine bark + moss) that allows quick drying of the outer layer between waterings. Fertilising: Use a diluted balanced orchid fertilizer (¼ strength) during active growth. Flush occasionally to prevent salt build-up. Blooming Notes: Being a compact species, good cultural conditions (moisture, humidity, stable temps) help encourage the characteristically short but showy inflorescences.

Kiwi Bark
$4.00
Kiwi bark's chunky texture makes for an excellent soil amendment! Kiwi bark has a slower decomposition rate and is less likely to rot compared to other wood. Because of this, large pieces such as these can help increase drainage and make soil not compact as much over time. It can also be used as a potting medium on it's own for some epiphytic species such as most orchids! 2 quart bag can roughly fill one and a half 6" diameter nursery pots. 1 quart bag can roughly fill one and a half 4" diameter nursery pots. All soil amendments ship in a biodegradable bag

Perlite
$4.00
Perlite is the most commonly used additive for increasing soil drainage. It is volcanic glass that forms when glass literally pops like popcorn under super-heated temperatures. It is extremely light and porous! It works wonders on species like Begonias that like a fluffy, quickly draining soil mixture. This perlite in particular is an extra fine grade! 2 quart bag can roughly fill one and a half 6" diameter nursery pots. 1 quart bag can roughly fill one and a half 4" diameter nursery pots. All soil amendments ship in a biodegradable bag

Philodendron hederaceum
$12.00
Philodendron hederaceum is known for its versatility and durability in a variety of different spaces. With the proper care, it can be a fast growing during the spring and summer making it perfect for hanging baskets! The baskets are especially cute due to the heart shaped foliage. Care: We recommend weekly waterings typically as the soil is 1"-2" dry for this size. This will also do best in a bright filtered light. Although this is sold often as a low light plant, our definition of low light is what the plant needs to survive. A source of natural light somewhere in the room will keep this plant sustained and thriving. Usually we say if you can read a book in the room without the light on during the day it's usually enough light for this one. All of our plants are ethically sourced from certified U.S. nurseries. We strongly condemn the poaching of plants or wild collection.
