Paphiopedilum delenatii var. vinicolor is a striking variety of the popular Paphiopedilum orchid, known for its elegant, slipper-shaped flowers and rich, vinous color tones. This particular variety, vinicolor , is distinguished by its deep, wine-red or burgundy hues on the lip and a soft, pale pink to lavender shade on the petals and sepals. The vibrant, dark red lip contrasts beautifully with the lighter, pastel-colored petals, creating a captivating and sophisticated appearance. The flowers have a velvety texture, adding to their overall allure, and the characteristic slipper-shaped lip gives this orchid its unique, elegant charm. Native to the forests of Vietnam and surrounding regions in Southeast Asia, Paphiopedilum delenatii var. vinicolor thrives in cool, shaded environments with high humidity. Like other Paphiopedilum orchids, it is a terrestrial species, typically growing in the forest floor where it is protected from direct sunlight by the canopy above. This variety prefers bright, indirect light and temperatures between 65°F and 75°F (18°C to 24°C), with a slight dip in temperature during the night to mimic its natural environment. In terms of care, Paphiopedilum delenatii var. vinicolor requires well-draining, orchid-specific potting mixes to avoid root rot, with a mix of bark, perlite, and sphagnum moss being ideal. Regular watering is essential, but it’s important to let the medium dry slightly between waterings to prevent over-saturation. Humidity is key for the plant’s health, so occasional misting or placing the plant in a humidity tray can help mimic its native conditions.

Philodendron hederaceum is known for its versatility and durability in a variety of different spaces. With the proper care, it can be a fast growing during the spring and summer making it perfect for hanging baskets! The baskets are especially cute due to the heart shaped foliage. Care: We recommend weekly waterings typically as the soil is 1"-2" dry for this size. This will also do best in a bright filtered light. Although this is sold often as a low light plant, our definition of low light is what the plant needs to survive. A source of natural light somewhere in the room will keep this plant sustained and thriving. Usually we say if you can read a book in the room without the light on during the day it's usually enough light for this one. All of our plants are ethically sourced from certified U.S. nurseries.
