Alocasia tandurusa
ID: #695808
Description
Alocasia tandurusa is a captivating and rare species of elephant ear plant, known for its striking, large, arrowhead-shaped leaves and dramatic foliage. Native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines, this Alocasia variety is highly sought after for its unique appearance and exotic charm. The leaves of Alocasia tandurusa are deep green with a glossy texture, often exhibiting bold veining that highlights the plant's intricate design. The distinct shape of the leaves, with their prominent midribs and gently curled edges, gives them an almost sculptural quality, making them a standout in any plant collection. One of the most remarkable features of Alocasia tandurusa is its size—when mature, the leaves can reach substantial proportions, creating a dramatic, tropical effect in any indoor space. The plant's upright, arching growth habit further enhances its visual appeal, making it an excellent statement piece for homes, offices, or conservatories. Its impressive foliage, paired with its relatively compact size compared to other Alocasia species, makes it an ideal choice for those looking to add a bold touch of greenery without overwhelming a space. Alocasia tandurusa thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers a warm, humid environment. Like many Alocasias, it requires consistent moisture but should not be overwatered. It's important to let the soil dry out slightly between waterings to avoid root rot. A well-draining potting mix, such as one designed for tropical plants, is essential to ensure healthy root development. As a tropical plant, it also benefits from higher humidity levels, so regular misting, a humidity tray, or a humidifier can help mimic its native environment. All of our plants are ethically sourced from certified U.S. nurseries. We strongly condemn the poaching of plants or wild collection.

Kiwi Bark
$4.00
Kiwi bark's chunky texture makes for an excellent soil amendment! Kiwi bark has a slower decomposition rate and is less likely to rot compared to other wood. Because of this, large pieces such as these can help increase drainage and make soil not compact as much over time. It can also be used as a potting medium on it's own for some epiphytic species such as most orchids! 2 quart bag can roughly fill one and a half 6" diameter nursery pots. 1 quart bag can roughly fill one and a half 4" diameter nursery pots. All soil amendments ship in a biodegradable bag

Perlite
$4.00
Perlite is the most commonly used additive for increasing soil drainage. It is volcanic glass that forms when glass literally pops like popcorn under super-heated temperatures. It is extremely light and porous! It works wonders on species like Begonias that like a fluffy, quickly draining soil mixture. This perlite in particular is an extra fine grade! 2 quart bag can roughly fill one and a half 6" diameter nursery pots. 1 quart bag can roughly fill one and a half 4" diameter nursery pots. All soil amendments ship in a biodegradable bag

Philodendron hederaceum
$12.00
Philodendron hederaceum is known for its versatility and durability in a variety of different spaces. With the proper care, it can be a fast growing during the spring and summer making it perfect for hanging baskets! The baskets are especially cute due to the heart shaped foliage. Care: We recommend weekly waterings typically as the soil is 1"-2" dry for this size. This will also do best in a bright filtered light. Although this is sold often as a low light plant, our definition of low light is what the plant needs to survive. A source of natural light somewhere in the room will keep this plant sustained and thriving. Usually we say if you can read a book in the room without the light on during the day it's usually enough light for this one. All of our plants are ethically sourced from certified U.S. nurseries. We strongly condemn the poaching of plants or wild collection.
