An impressive antique lantern attributed to E.F. Caldwell & Co., distinguished by its exceptional mixed-media construction of copper-clad plaster and richly sculptural design. The lantern features textured glass panels framed by elaborate classical ornament, including finely cast female heads, scrolling foliage, and decorative borders that showcase the artistry associated with one of America’s premier lighting manufacturers. The warm aged copper finish has developed a beautiful patina over time, enhancing the depth and character of the fixture. Its unusual construction, combining a plaster body wrapped in copper cladding, reflects the innovative craftsmanship for which Caldwell was renowned. This light is in excellent antique condition with a beautiful aged finish. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier measures approximately 15-1/4″ wide (square), 21-1/2″ wide (diagonally), and is 54″ long overall.
