A stunning antique Neoclassical figural fireplace cover, dating from the late 1800’s and salvaged out of a home in Nashville, TN. This exceptional piece features a detailed high-relief depiction of Diana the Huntress, the Roman goddess of the hunt, gracefully posed amid lush foliage and accompanied by wildlife. The composition is framed by elegant scrollwork and classical ornamentation, showcasing the refined craftsmanship and artistic sensibility characteristic of the period. The richly textured surface and deep patina enhance the sculptural quality of the design, making it both a functional hearth element and a captivating decorative statement. This cover is in good antique condition with the wear typical of an old fireplace insert (as pictured). It measures approximately 20″ wide, 26-3/4″ tall and projects 1-1/2″.
