An amazing antique fireplace summer cover set, dating from the early 1900s and ornamented with figural details.The central panel features a pastoral relief scene of children gathered at a water pump, accompanied by a dog—capturing a nostalgic moment of everyday life with remarkable depth and texture. The background’s woven basket-weave pattern enhances the dimensionality of the scene, while the surrounding frame adds a layer of sophistication. Of particular note is the upper frieze, adorned with a finely cast cherub head flanked by draped garlands and ribbon details—an unmistakable nod to neoclassical design influences. This summer cover set is in very good antique condition, as pictured. The outer frame measures 25-3/4″ wide, 30-1/4″ tall, and is 2-1/4″ deep. The insert measures 20″ wide, 18″ tall, and is 1-1/2″ deep; the base bumper measures 24-1/4″ wide, 8″ tall, and projects 3-1/2″.
