JMPv2 Jointmaker Pro v2

JMPv2 Jointmaker Pro v2

$929.00

In Stock What is the Jointmaker Pro? The Jointmaker Pro is nothing more than an adjustable back saw in a frame. Rather than the blade moving forward and backward as is typical with every handsaw in the world, it is held in place and the stock, rigidly attached to linear tables, is moved over the top of the blade. The angle of attack is adjustable based upon either the thickness of the material, the width of the material or the hardness of the material, or any combination of the three. What makes the Jointmaker Pro so unusual is that it is a handsaw that is cutting from the bottom up. PRECISION CUTTING Blade with high quality As the core part, the high quality of the blade is the guarantee of cutting performance. If you were to take the blade and put it in a hand saw, it would work just like a dozuki crosscut pull saw. The blade is one of the finest crosscut saws made on this planet, it is patented and each tooth has four separate grinds with 28 teeth per inch (Crosscut A). Multiple blade types for choice There are four types of blades, Crosscut A (standard part) is the most commonly used blade, whose kerf is as small as 0.4 mm, and will satisfy most cutting requirement. Crosscut B (optional part), is best for the soft woods; Crosscut C (optional part) is a little wider than Crosscut A, this blade was designed for fret wire, but it is also used for cutting dense woods; Rip Blade (optional part) gives an incredible finish when ripping your stock, it can be used for dovetails making. NYLON GEAR The gears are nylon. This is a perfect application for nylon gears. There is no backlash and it is a low-load and low-rpm mechanism. SLIDING STRUCTURE MOVES SMOOTHLY The JMPv2 uses cylindrical guide and linear bearing system (sealed bearing), the accuracy of parallelism of all the parts is high. The system needs no adjustment or lubrication (assembled in factory). The operation is easy with lttle noise, which ensures the smooth cutting experience. Table sliding parallel with blade The parallelism accuracy of the sliding direction of the table, the blade and the guide rail is very high. The straightness accuracy of the cylindrical guide rail is within 0.025 mm. This parallelism accuracy can complete the fine cutting of the miniature stock. A clean and tidy cut can be obtained by this sliding system. Even if you put a small piece of paper by the side of blade on the table, then pushing the fence forward and back, you cannot find any gap between the paper and blade at all. Silent linear bearing, the cutting can be operated by one hand Linear sealed acetyl bearings provide a sliding process with low friction, which avoids the clogging caused by dust getting into bearings. The noise is smaller than power tools. The cutting can be completed by one-hand operation. SIMPLE ADJUSTMENT OF BLADE HEIGHT, ANGLE AND TILTING The blade height and pitch can be easily adjusted via the keel assembly The adjustment mechanism of the keel assembly features gears with minimal backlash, which can not only ensure smooth rotation, but also the accurate setting of the blade height and pitch. The blade can be freely tilted via a trunnion assembly The blade can be tilted via a trunnion assembly up to 45° by left or right side. The four included stops can set the tilt angle quickly for repeat cutting. THE WOODEN FENCE AND JAWS The Fences and Trap Jaws are made of Poplar. The trap jaws can be used to hold the wood stock against fence quickly for cutting accurately. They are consumable items and replacements are available to order or you can make your own. SPECIAL PROCESSING WITH SELECT MATERIAL Anodized aluminium sliding table The sliding tables are made from anodized aluminium, which makes them not only have good anti-friction and high hardness but also the exquisite appearance of matte finishing. High-hardness cylindrical guide bar The cylindrical guide is made of 40Cr steel which is T235 hardened and tempered . After chroming, the surface of the guide bar is bright, good-looking, rust proof and hard. Japanese high quality blade The Blade Teeth are processed with a high-frequency heat treatment, so that they have high hardness and excellent cutting performance, allowing them to achieve fine cutting on various soft and hard wood. APPLICATIONS The Jointmaker Pro v2 is ideal for: ● Box Makers ● Environmentally concerned woodworkers ● Musical Instrument Makers ● Professional Woodworkers ● Architectural Model Makers ● Special Effects Studios ● Toy Makers ● Picture Framers Schools ● Furniture Makers ● Artists ● Parquetry ● Hobbyists ● Model Railroad Set Builders ● Doll house makers ● Model Makers.... THE ONLY LIMIT IS ONE'S IMAGINATION!

PC-PF Pivot Clamp for JMPv2 Precision Fence

PC-PF Pivot Clamp for JMPv2 Precision Fence

$49.00

Precision Fence Pivot Clamp HOW IMPORTANT IS WORK HOLDING? It is the most important aspect for repeatable results. Because the saw is cutting from the bottom up, you are fighting negative feed-this is the tendency of the board to move upward resisting the cut. This upward tendency needs to be completely eliminated with proper work holding. It is particularly critical when the blade is tilted. If the stock move upward while the blade is tilted, you will almost always jam your stock on the blade, which is not good. DESCRIPTION Use this pivoting hold-down clamp to secure work to the table surface of your JMPv2. Tightening the knob applies pressure to both clamp pads, simultaneously locking both the work and the clamp into position. The pivoting action and swiveling clamp pads provides the flexibility to hold a variety of workpieces- even non-flat pieces -in a wide range of positions. lts MBx 130 hex head bolt slips through a table slot and can be positioned anywhere along the slot. MATERIAL QUALITY It is made of anodized aluminum, so that it is of high strength, wear resistance and rust-proof.

CSMv1 Chopstick Master Gen.1

CSMv1 Chopstick Master Gen.1

$349.00

In Stock Chopstick Master---Master Your Happiness CSMv1 Chopstick Master Gen.1, a unique tabletop tool, Chopstick Master allows anybody, regardless of experience, age 8 and up, to make a pair of gallery-quality Chinese chopsticks and Japanese chopsticks. This original design utilizes a Japanese blade to form the finials on the end of the Chopsticks. John, who has been designing woodworking tools for over 30 years, wants to design a tool that could be used without any prior knowledge of woodworking, so that everyone, including children, would be able to enjoy the simple pleasure of making something by hand. In creating such a tool, he would first need to create a project that everyone would enjoy making, be simple to understand and easy to use. After a long period of research, John found that chopstick is the one. For China, the world's most populous country chopsticks are both daily and culturally object. Suppose that people can make a pair of chopsticks used by themselves. That would be an exciting and meaningful matter. As a result, John carefully designed the "Chopstick Master" tool. Experience the happiness of becoming a crafts man with the Chopstick Master Even if you’re a busy professional, you can take 10 minutes to make a pair of personal chopsticks by yourself; If you’re an artist, enjoy every minute of the innovative process, to create a pair of chopsticks you like; If you have never tried woodworking, and are looking for a simple and easy project designed for all ages, including the elderly and children, you can make a pair of classic chopsticks with the Chopstick Master™. Teaching you how to make chopsticks in six steps Making Chopstick Master is not only easy, but making a pair of chopsticks is done in only 6 steps. 01—Mark four sides the chopsticks with number To make the four bevels of chopsticks, mark “1 / 2 / 3 / 4" at the end of each side of the chopstick blanks for tracking the making of each bevel. 02—Choose the type of chopsticks you want to make With the Chopstick Master you can make Chinese chopsticks and Japanese chopsticks, when making Chinese chopsticks, select the red arm; when making Japanese chopsticks, select green arm. (The diameter of tip end of Chinese chopsticks is 5mm, the diameter of tip end of Japanese chopsticks is 2mm.) 03—— Make four sides of chopsticks If you want to make a pair of Chinese chopsticks, first set both adjustment knobs to “1”, and install the face of the chopstick that you marked “1” into the chopstick jig on a diagonal resting it against the pin near the front of the jig and against the back of the red arm. Fix the wedges on both sides of the chopstick until the chopstick is firmly secured. Use the block plane to cut the chopstick. The plane automatically stops cutting the chopstick at the correct thickness. Repeat the same process on the chopstick face marked “2”. Rotate the chopstick to the face that is marked “3”, adjust the knobs to “2”, and fix the wedges until the chopstick is secure and use the block plane to cut the chopstick. Repeat the process for the chopstick face marked “4”. (When making Japanese chopsticks, place the green arm in the chopstick master jig and turn the adjustment knobs to “2” when cutting faces 1 and 2 and then turn the adjustment knobs to “3” when cutting faces 3 and 4. The tip of the chopstick will be thinner at 2mm.) 04——Shaping the Octagon Tip Keep both adjustment knobs set to “2”, (Japanese chopstick is “3”). Place one corner edge of the chopstick blank in the “V” groove located in the arm. The narrow end of the chopstick should still be against the stop at the far end of the arm. Hold the plane in your favorite hand and with the opposite thumb push the blank into the stop at the end of the arm. Plane the corner of the blank that is facing up until the plane quits cutting. You will only need to plane the far one-half to one-third of the length of the chopstick. Repeat for the other 3 edge corners. When complete, you should have a perfectly shaped octagon on the tip of each blank. 05——Making the Pyramidal Finial For the Chopstick Master 1 attach the sliding table to the Chopstick Master body. It should slide smoothly without any slop. Insert the saw blade between the body and the blade clamp, with the narrow end of the blade closest to the orange bench hook and the teeth pointing upward. Place the chopstick on the sliding table transversely. Place your right thumb in the indent at the rear of the sliding table, and use your right index and middle fingers to firmly hold the chopstick down. With your hand firmly in place, push the sliding table forward using 90% of the blade being careful to not to push the chopstick all the way off of the blade. Rotate the chopstick 90° and make sure it is against the stop and make the second cut. Repeat for the 3rd and 4th cuts. The result should be a perfect pyramidal fifinial at the end of each chopstick. 06——Sanding, oiling and resting Your chopsticks are almost done now. If there are corners that feel sharp, lightly sand with 400 grit sandpaper After sanding, you can use oil to handle the surface, then set aside for a few minutes, you can put chopsticks in cloth chopsticks bag to take home for use. *All parts of the tool need to be checked and debugged before and after use, including debugging of block plane, sliding table, sharpening operation, selecting operation position etc., which have simple and detailed operation steps in the product instruction.

TM-1 Tenonmaker

TM-1 Tenonmaker

$59.00

In Stock Since ancient times, the mortise and tenon joint has been one of the most classical jointing methods in woodworking. For effificiency and accuracy, the mortise is made before tenon. Also, to avoid a loose fit, the width of kerf and tenon need to be carefully measured and marked by hand, which is complicated and errors can easily occur. Needless to say, a perfect fit is difficult to control. The TM-1 and KM-1 can avoid the above problem. There is no need to comply the making order, also the measurement of kerf, mortise and tenon is unnecessary. What you need to do is position the two sliders, and then the precisely fitted joints can be made in three steps. Three steps for tenon making The TM-1 consists with one block, two sliders and two locking knobs. Once you confirm the mortise, precise tenons can be made in three steps. Step 1 Confirm the width of kerf Confirm the width of the blade kerf by using the distance between orange slider and block. Step 2 Confirm the width of mortise Confirm the width of mortise by putting the protruding parts of the block and the dark slider into the tenon. Step 3 Cutting Cut successively by using the orange slider and the block as a flip stop against the fence to achieve the precise tenon.

TS-1v2/ TS-1.5v2/ TS-2v2-I/M Try Squares

TS-1v2/ TS-1.5v2/ TS-2v2-I/M Try Squares

$49.00

In Stock John Economaki began designing and hand-making custom furniture in the 1970's, after a brief stint as a woodshop school teacher in Portland, Oregon. After contracting pneumonia as a result of becoming hyper-allergic to wood dust, John switched from making furniture to designing and creating heirloom tools merging functionality with aesthetics. The first tool designed and produced was the Try Square in 1983 simply out of frustration with try squares on the market that weren't square and hence Bridge City Tool Works was established. The try square became the cornerstone of this newly formed company . The Try Square handle is stable and adjustable The handle is comprised of two sections that are mirror images of each other. When fastened together, they create a secure foundation for the stainless-steel blade. Should the try square ever get dropped or become out of square, it can be calibrated by loosening four screws, placing the square against a known 90 Degree Reference and then tightening the four screws once again. The handle is ergonomically designed The hollow design of the handle is easy for the operator to grasp and hold. Avoids deformed corners of the blade when dropped The four blade corners are rounded, which can prevent the damage caused should the square be dropped. Anodized aluminum makes a great matte finish The surface of the try square has a matte finish, which is beautiful and easy to maintain. One side of the handle is dark grey, the other side is silver. The trim inside the handle is orange. Anodized aluminum alloy is rust and wear resistant and provides superior hardness and durability. Special finishing, leaving no fingerprints The finish of the stainless-steel blade is processed with a special PVD coating (Physical Vapor Deposition) which provides a stunning decorative finish with strong corrosion and wear resistance. The surface of the blade can be marked with a pencil, leaving no fingerprints when wiped clean. Laser Etched Graduations of TS-2V2 For the blade of the TS-2v2, it has laser etched graduations (available in metric or imperial) which are easy to read. The metric graduation is 200mm, and the imperial graduation is 8 inches in 32nd. The dual starting ends on the two edges of blade of TS-2v2 provide much convenience for multiple measuring needs. Classic 8:1 Profile for dovetail joints The blade is pierced with an 8:1 profle which can be used for accurate layout of dovetail joints.

JS-6 Crosscut Saw

JS-6 Crosscut Saw

$78.00

JS-6 Crosscut Saw All of the Japanese saws made in Japan for Bridge City feature blades with a golden hue. This color appears during the heat treating process and is normally ground off to reveal the traditional silver color of steel. We insist that it not be ground off so you know the blades are properly tempered. We highly recommend having a replacement blade on hand as most of these saws feature teeth that have up to four facets ground on each tooth making them all but impossible to sharpen by hand. Japanese Saws cut on the pull stroke, and because the blades are under tension during cutting, the blade thickness can be much thinner than European heritage saws. A thinner blade means less material is removed and requires much less effort to use. With a little practice, your cuts will look like they were made with a laser. In soft woods, Japanese Saws cut so efficiently, it is hard to believe it is made by hand. In hard woods, as in all hand sawing operations, let the saw progress at its pace and apply very little downward pressure. Cuts are started at the back of your stock as you pull forward. Aggressive and impatient users will invariably break teeth on these saws which defeats the purpose of owning a precision saw. NOTE: The handle of the Japanese Saw is wrapped in Rattan which is a natural material and therefore may have slight marring or imperfections.

Maple – A diffuse-porous hardwood that has excellent planing characteristics but reverse grain is not uncommon (you will need to plane some spots pulling the plane towards you to avoid grain tear-out). This is the lightest color of chopstick blanks that we provide. Padauk – A bright red/orange when freshly cut but does mellow over time. This is an open grain hardwood that planes easily and makes an excellent chopstick not only for its hardness but for the beautiful color – red is considered “good luck” in Wenge ( Millettia laurentii ) – Hard and somewhat brittle with a coarse, fibrous structure. An attractive medium brown with lighter grain lines, it becomes almost uniformly black with an oil finish.

HP-12 Dual Angle Bench Plane

HP-12 Dual Angle Bench Plane

$699.00

In Stock Breaking Tradition with Amazing Versatilty! The HP-12 Dual Angle Bench Plane, designed by John Economaki, is unlike any other smoother past or present in the quality, workmanship, and performance. We believe this dedication to quality and performance will rub off in your work. This lightweight plane is one of the most versatile and usable planes and may be the only bench plane you'll ever need! The Ergonomically Designed Front and Rear Totes The rear tote is investment cast 304 stainless steel with the two interior cavities painted black. Shaped to invoke the illusion of movement. The highly polished curved surfaces add a nice reflective contrast to the colors of the plane components. The variable chamfer at the top of the tote ties in nicely with the graceful chamfers of the plane sides. The angle is perpendicular to the iron edge directing the forward motion of the plane straight at the cutting edge. All metal front and rear totes which fit nicely in both small and large hands. The front tote "mushroom" is turned from aluminum, bead blasted and anodized black. This shape is more hand friendly than the more common "balloon" totes and is threaded into the throat plate allowing for precise adjustment of the mouth. Unique Blade Retention Mechanism Simply pull the sculpted "D" lever and the entire blade retention mechanism swings out of the way to facilitate iron removal. It is fast, fun, the pressure is adjustable, and you have never seen anything like it. There are no free parts - the mechanism is integrated into the body. Iron Adjustment Both cutting depth and cant (iron angle) can be adjusted by the lead screw under the lever easily and precisely. Cutting Depth Adjustment The iron is engaged to the depth adjuster via a pin nut attached to a 0.5mm thread pitch lead screw. One full revolution of the lead screw increases the depth of cut by 0.1mm (0.004"). The lead screw is housed in a split pivot nut turned from solid brass and the result is a backlash free mechanism that is field adjustable by hand. This mechanism is as smooth as butter in use. Iron Cant Adjustment Iron canting can be achieved by shifting the lead screw side to side but in practice this is not as preferable, or as fast, as canting with the fingers through the sides of the plane body. Dual Ground lrons The robust irons (0.225"/5.7 mm thick) are a full two inches wide (50.8 mm) and hardened to Rc 60-62 from A2 tool steel. They are lapped to a mirror finish--no flattening required. The HP-12 Dual Angle Bench Plane comes with two irons with four unique purposes. The available grinds eliminate the need for multiple planes. This plane, with these attack angle choices, may be the only bench plane you will ever use or need. The attack angle of 42 degrees is used for low angle work. The attack angle of 47 degrees is used for standard work. The attack angle of 60 degrees is used for woods you like to swear at. Lastly, there is a scrub iron grind. It is included and designed to be used for quick cross grain flattening of wavy or difficult grained stock. Blade Guard When bedded, the non-business edge is protected with an aluminum blade guard which is mandatory when sharpening to avoid injury. The guard attaches to the iron with rare earth magnets. Ability to Add Depth Skids The single distinguishing feature of the HP-12 over any other plane made today is the ability to add depth skids; essentially turning your plane into a 2" thickness planer. The ability to thickness plane to a precise thickness is an incredible benefit for box makers, for making louvers, models, musical instrument makers, inlay strips...tc. The skids feature rounded soles which not only reduce friction but allow you to set them at different depths for creating accurate tapered stock (louvers) without having to sand. Either straight or tapered, you cut until the plane no longer makes a shaving-it is fun and the accuracy is amazing. It is entirely possible, and easy, to make multiple components with a thickness that does not vary more than 0.002" (0.05mm)!

HP-9v2 Dual Angle Block Plane

HP-9v2 Dual Angle Block Plane

$479.00

In Stock A Typical Tool Making Art by John Economaki Tool making as an art has never been more obvious than the form and function of the HP-9v2 Dual Angle Block Plane. This beautifully crafted, dual-angle block plane has several distinguishing features making it one of the most interesting products in our history of tool making. Harmonious Designs By eliminating the traditional cross pin found in most antique and contemporary metal bodied planes, we were able to design the body to fit hands of all sizes. The matching of components' multiple colors will present you an enjoyment of aesthetics. The plane sides have been "skeletonized". The solid, stainless steel investment cast rear tote fits palms perfectly, creating a harmonious design that differs greatly in appearance from the traditional block planes based upon early European designs. The Four-Linkage Mechanism for Blade Tension The blade tension is achieved with a four-linkage mechanism. Moving the cap downward until it snaps will tighten the blade. The components of this Four-Linkage Mechanism are CNC machined from solid aluminum and anodized to achieve the extraordinary finish. Iron Adjustment Both cutting depth and iron angle can be adjusted by the lead screw easily and precisely. The backlash of the lead screw is minimized by adjusting the two screw knobs located in the top of the brass lead screw pivot. Rotate the screw knobs to tighten the brass lead screw pivot to eliminate the possibility of the lead screw shifting backward. Depth of Cut Precise to 0.01mm (0.0004") Increment The blade is adjusted with a modified Norris mechanism allowing for extremely fine blade advancement. The lead screw has 20 threads in 10mm. One full revolution clockwise will increase the depth of cut by 0.1mm (0.004"). There are five semi-circular cuts milled around the lead screw knob, which achieves incredibly small incremental adjustments. Rotating one knurled section to one of the semi-circular cuts next to it will increase/decrease the cut depth by 0.01mm (0.0004"). The Blade The HP-9v2 Dual Angle Block Plane features an A2 tool blade which has been hardened to Rockwell 60-62 for added durability in cutting hard or soft woods. One Blade for Two Functions John Economaki pioneered a new way to build a block plane which allows for an iron with dual edges; one ground primarily for end grain (42-degree attack angle) and the other for general purpose use (47-degree attack angle). We believe the HP-9v2 Dual Angle Block Plane is the most versatile block plane available today--one plane body with one iron equals two planes. Magnetic Blade Guard The blade is equipped with a magnetic blade guard that sticks to the unused edge to protect your finger and the unused edge both in use and sharpening. Stainless Steel Sole and Adjustable Throat Plate The stainless steel sole has a flatness of 0.05mm/0.002" that ensures a precision cutting and features an adjustable stainless steel mouth allowing for moving the throat plate forward and backward easily. Becoming a Thickness Plane The depth skids will allow you to turn the HP-9 v2 into a mini thickness planer. You will be able to dimension your stock with 0.05mm/0.002" or greater repeatability up to 32mm/1-1/4" in thickness. Some of the more obvious uses for this functionality are shoji screen components, jewelry boxes, inlay strips, and other projects where precise thin material is required. The HP-9 Dual Angle Block Plane is the only block plane available today with this capability. Dual Faces Fence The HP-9v2 Dual Angle Block Plane also features a guide fence. By attaching two fence posts to either side and attaching the guide fence, you can plane square edges and 45-degree faces, which allows woodworkers with less skill, or disabilities to achieve accurate results.

UG-1 Universal Gauge

UG-1 Universal Gauge

$139.00

In Stock A Unique Tool with Surprising Versatility The Universal Gauge (UG-1) is one of the handiest protractors and layout tools we have ever designed and is made for makers who have limited space and those who understand the value of their time. It is perfect for setting or checking angles on table saw blades, jointer fences, band saw blades, drill press tables and much more. Try Square There are two 90-degree references within the functionality of the UG-1, one fixed and one utilizing the protractor arm. Accuracy of the fixed square is plus or minus 0.05mm(0.002”) over the length of the 90mm(3.5”) leg. Protractor Utilizing a laser etched 45-degree quadrant, (0. 5° graduations, and it is easy to visually reference a quarter of a degree), and a 144. 5mm (5-5/8") long protractor leg, the UG-1 is a quick and fast protractor to transfer the angle precisely. Adjustable Reference Leg Featuring an offset which serves two purposes: Allows the 2mm (0.079”) thin blade edge to fit between the teeth of a circular saw blade. By chucking a drill rod blank in the drill press, you have two surfaces on the arm to help precisely set the drill press table to either square or any angle up to 45 degrees. It features quick reference icons for the common angles needed to make polyangular forms. For those who make hand cut dovetails, it is easy and fast to quickly set the protractor arm to either 6:1 or 8:1 ratios using the quick set icons as a reference. Direct Reading Bevel The UG-1 is an effective layout tool. The blade sits flat on your work piece which allows for precise transfers of angularity between the tool to your stock. It features a two-point locking system. And the locking lever facilitates those with hand strength constraints. Depth Gauge The depth gauge function of the UG-1 will measure depths in cavities as small as 1/4” (6mm) in diameter and up. Depth capacity is 76mm (3”). Use this to determine the depth of mortises, dados, rabbets, holes and other assorted recesses. It is fast, and locks via a jammed dovetail slide. It is particularly useful in conjunction with measuring depths when cut by a router. In addition, this is the tool to use when you need to precisely offset a split fence on a router table or shaper. Height Gauge Often overlooked as a valuable shop aid, a good height gauge can save a lot of time. It is primarily used as a static way to set the height of circular saw blades, JMP blades, router bits and shaper cutters. It positively locks via a jammed dovetail slide. Marking Gauge The marking gauge on the UG-1 is a quick way to layout lines a specific distance from the hook reference. It is not as efficient, or as versatile as a stand-alone marking gauge but works well for tenon layout and other smaller scale applications where parallel lines of a known distance are required. Simply set the red indicator at the desired distance and mark along the bottom edge of the indicator. Inch/Metric Comparison Tool The marking gauge of the UG-1 features opposing scales, one imperial, one metric. Sooner than you think possible, you will learn that 25mm is about an inch, 12mm is about ½” and so on. Centering Rule The UG-1 can be used to quickly fInd dead center of stock up to 140mm (5.5”) in width. The scale is metric which is ideal for a centering rule, all you need to do is align the two same numbers on the right and left of the stock, and rule will indicate center at the 0 mark. Flip Standoff When you need to lay the Universal Ga u ge on a flat surface, flip the standoff downward and slide the red marking ga u ge assembly to the top of the tool and lock. This will keep the Universal Ga u ge from tipping. The Magnetic Base There are times where a magnetic base is ideal when you need both hands for other tasks.

MS-1v2/ MS-1.5v2/ MS-2v2 Miter Squares

MS-1v2/ MS-1.5v2/ MS-2v2 Miter Squares

$49.00

Of all the different wood joints you will make, one of the most difficult is one of the simplest–the miter joint. Let’s say you are making a frame and your layout tool is off by 0.08mm, this little 0.08mm error multiplied by the eight cuts means that fourth corner now features an ugly 0.3mm gap which is just under 1/32” of an inch, directly influencing the tightness of the joint and the appearance. Therefore, you need a precision miter square for highly accurate woodworking design, machine setup and block checking. Tight joints through highly accurate parts The Miter Square is accurate to ±0.05mm over the full length of the blade, inside and out. The angularity accuracy of the 45° angle and the 135° angle formed by the steel blade and handle is less than 0.036° which helps ensure the accuracy of your projects. The handle is stable and adjustable The handle of the miter square consists of two L-shaped sections that sandwich the blade and forms a tight and accurate 45° with the handle. If the miter square becomes loose, the mounting screws can be re-tightened to resume the original accuracy. The handle design is ergonomic The hollow design of the handle is easy for the operator to grasp and hold. Stainless steel blade with high hardness for fine marking The blade, made of stainless-steel, has a smooth finish with superior hardness and is rust and wear resistant. It can be used with a marking knife. Special finishing, leaving no fingerprints The finish of the stainless- steel blade is processed with a special PVD coating (Physical Vapor Deposition) which provides a stunning decorative finish with strong corrosion and wear resistance. The surface of the blade can be marked with a pencil, leaving no fingerprints when wiped clean. Anodized aluminum makes a great matte finish The surface of miter square has matte finishing, which is beautiful and of maintenance free. One side of the handle is dark grey; the other side is silver. The trim inside the handle is orange. Its material of anodized aluminum alloy increases the hardness and wear resistance.

PB-2 Palm Brace

PB-2 Palm Brace

$179.00

The Hand Powered Palm Brace That "Charms Your Socks Off" Designed by John Economaki Inspired by a woodcut image of a little brace for grinding the valve seats in an old manual for Ford Model T, John Economaki became obsessed with the possibility of a similar tool perfect for hand drilling and screwdriver, and he created the PB-1 Palm Brace in 2000. In 2008, John designed the Commemorative Edition Palm Brace CT-16 to celebrate our woodworking heritage. CT-6 perfectly embodied John's Minimalist Artistic Approach in design and its "Black and White" simplicity created a new visual aesthetic only possible with modern processes. Twelve years later, with the inheritance of the legendary PB-1 and CT. 16, John Economaki created the brand new Palm Brace PB-2. PB-2 Palm Brace is a progressive evolution of PB-1 and CT.16 owing to John's continuous passion for perfection and the advancement of modern technology. Compared to CT.16, PB-2 features a Titanium Brace Arm made of Grade 5 Titanium Ally (TC4) which Provides Superior Strength, Hardness and Light Weight. Secondly, PB-2 features the Complete PVD coatings of Titanium Carbide (TiC) on all surfaces with unmatched scratch resistance and Jet Black Ceramic Finish. Combination drilling/countersinking is equally fun and impressive with the PB-2 Palm Brace. It's very easy to accurately control depth, with a single drill/countersink bit, you'll be able to seat #4-12 Flathead screws with ease and perfection. (Single flute counter- sinks work great in wood and non-ferrous metals.) Drilling is remarkably fast and the bits are all positive locked in the precision 1/4”Hex Keyless Chuck while exciting a hole. Driving screws with the PB-2 Palm Brace will "charm your socks off". It is a tool where you can "feel" the exact torque needed to do sensitive work, a really big deal with small brass screws. No more stripped screws, no more broken screws. Once you use the PB-2 Palm Brace to install hardware you will find a traditional screwdriver awkward! All parts of PB-2 Palm Brace are made of Alloy 303 Stainless Steel or Grade 5 (TC4) Titanium Alloy. The overall height of PB-2 is 8-1/2". The arm radius swing is 2-1/4". The Keyless Chuck takes all bits with 1/4” hex shanks. We guarantee that the PB-2 Palm Brace will be one of those tools that make you feel compelled to show them to your woodworking friends. It works extraordinarily well and has a charm that is hard to match! Enjoy your woodworking!

PP-1 Pencil Precision

PP-1 Pencil Precision

$779.00

A Complete Personal Pencil Making Factory Imagine making a pencil for your child’s SAT test? Your grandchild’s first pencil? The opportunities for memorable gestures are endless. All of the steps are easy to achieve, the process is fun and the results are very rewarding. This “pencil factory in a box” can be enjoyed by your entire family on the kitchen counter! It is easy to use and allows young and old alike to make professional-grade pencils without woodworking experience or ability. Most of the parts of Pencil Precision are CNC machined from solid aluminum and anodized creating a beautiful finish that is almost as hard as a diamond. The plane iron and dies are made from hardened tool steel. By using the Pencil Precision Block Plane with the Plane Sled Unit, the default pencil shape is hexagonal. To make round, beaded or Reuleaux pencils, a hexagonal pencil is fed into the extrusion unit. A series of progressive dies remove material to create the desired pencil shape. Your pencils can also be painted in different colors if you like. All of the steps are easy to achieve, the process is fun and the results are very rewarding. --John Economaki THE PLANE SLED UNIT This unit is designed to allow kids to make hexagonal pencils without using the extrusion unit. Put the blank in the unit, tighten the clamp and in 4-6 strokes, you have cut a 1mm radius groove AND thickness planed the blank to the correct thickness. This is the beauty of depth skids on a hand plane. In practice, the unit sits on a provided anti-skid pad so it stays put and your table or counter is protected. Once you have finished the above steps on two blanks, you insert them into the grooves in the fixture. Without changing a thing on the plane, you plane until the skids hit the fixture and the plane no longer cuts. Flip the blanks and repeat to create the opposite edge. When these are glued together you have a perfect six sided hexagon, the standard pencil cross section. Clamping needs to be kid friendly and this is about as easy as it gets. Place the lead in one half, brush on some glue on the opposite blank and put the two halves together一the lead will align the two halves perfectly. Stand the pencil on end and slide on the tapered aluminum clamp below. Next, place a clamp on the other end. The major diameter of these clamps allows you to put the entire assembly back in the sled unit for clamping the middle section of the pencil. If you desire your pencil to be painted, lightly sand all of the corners with 400 grit. The sled unit converts to a paint rack as pictured below. Since the pencil will eventually need to be sharpened, and most likely will receive an eraser ferrule, you can rotate the ends of the blank with your fingers to paint all six faces without fear of screwing up the paint job. You can paint up to two pencils at a time. FERRULE UNIT The next step is to score the shoulder that the ferrule will butt against. This is done with the "Ferrule Unit". You insert the pencil until it stops, lower the cutter and spin the pencil until the cutter is parallel with the fixture. It is actually really easy. Then we have to create the tenon for the ferrule. This involves putting the pencil in the hole, peel off some wood back to the shoulder cut. The goal here is not to create a perfect cylindrical tenon, in fact, the irregularity of this helps create a firm ft with the ferrule. Putting the ferrule on dead straight is almost impossible without some help and we have it. The Ferrule Station can be rotated on end, drop a ferrule into the pocket and hold the blank in the alignment channel and tap the pencil home. Super easy and accurate. From here, you can put in one of the supplied erasers and sharpen with the included sharpener. And here is the shocker, not counting gluing time, or painting, you can make a pencil in 5 minutes. That is crazy fun! That is how you make hexagonal pencils. For other profiles, we need to use an additiona l unit. EXTRUSION UNIT This is the extrusion unit, and it uses progressive dies to make three other pencil profiles. This unit works by feeding a hexagonal pencil into the orange aluminum guide die. Forward motion is provided by rotating the crank until the pencil clears all three dies. We cannot tell you how much fun this is. This thing poops pencils! Enjoy the Fun of the Pencil Factory!

Center Drilling on Spheres Spheres from 5/16" (8mm) to 2-3/8" (60mm) in diameter can also be easily drilled with the DJ-3 Universal Drilling Jig. Dowel Holes Drilling on 45 Degree Miters* (with the optional Jaw Kit DJ-3-J) Want miter joints that can be strengthened with dowels? The DJ-3 Universal Drilling Jig, when fitted with the 45° miter jaws, will always drill holes perpendicular to the mitered edge directly on the centerline. Stock of ANY length can be drilled with the 45° miter jaws, and the maximum width of stock that can be drilled in this case is up to 7-9/32" (185mm). *This drilling application must be completed in conjunction with the optional Jaw Kit DJ-3-J. Angled Drilling on Flat Face* (with the optional Jaw Kit DJ-3-J) Drilling holes at an angle is extremely easy with the long accessory jaws. In conjunction with Long Accessory Jaws, the large diameter bits with nominal shank diameters can be used for drilling large holes. Using this setup, holes can be drilled up to 45 degrees. The maximum thickness of stock is up to 5-5/16" (135mm). *This drilling application must be completed in conjunction with the optional Jaw Kit DJ-3-J.

In Stock HP-14 Scraper Plane A Real Head Turner That Will Make Wood Grain Shake In Fear! -John Economaki In 2017, with much anticipation, John brought the HP-14 Scraper Plane into public eye. Five years later, we integrate the excellent new designs and optimizations with the HP-14, and are honored to announce this brand-new HP-14 Scraper Plane to all the woodworkers. The HP-14 Scraper Plane is a specialized hand planing tool that is great for trimming and smoothing surfaces with difficult grain patterns. With proper use of the HP-14 Scraper Plane, you can achieve a smoother surface and be able to work with more delicate materials. The reason for this is because the iron is scraping as opposed to shearing, which removes very little amounts of material at a time, resulting in smoother finishes without grain tear-out. The HP-14 Scraper Plane is a hand tool that will bring you immense pleasure and comfort on projects to come. Classic “Skeletonized” Design The HP-14 Scraper Plane continues to showcase the “skeletonized” style of plane body that is seen on the HP-9v2 & HP-12 planes. Featuring an all-metal front and rear totes, the plane body is designed to fit nicely in hands of all sizes. The front tote is a “mushroom” shaped piece made from machined aluminum, which is then bead blasted and anodized black. The “mushroom” shape provides improved ergonomics over the more common “balloon” shaped totes. On the other hand, the rear tote is casted from 304 stainless steel with the two interior cavities painted black. The shape of the rear tote invokes the illusion of movement, whereas the highly polished curved surfaces add a nice touch of contrast to the colors of the plane. Re-designed Iron Angle Adjustment Mechanism One of the most remarkable re-designs of the Iron Angle Adjustment mechanism is the addition of self-lubricated bearings, which eliminated any excess movement or “play” in the mechanism. This resulted in precise angle adjustments, ease of setup of the iron, and resulting in much better finishes for the workpiece. Wide Range of Angle Adjustability With the improved re-designed Iron Angle Adjustment Mechanism, you can make angle adjustments ranging from 88°~117°, which allows you the ability to handle many different types of wood of various hardness and roughness. Scraping Depth Micro-Adjustment With the scraping angle determined, the HP-14 Scraper Plane allows you to dial in the correct scraping depth using the micro-adjustment feature. By rotating the orange lock wheel in small increments of 1/3 turn counterclockwise, you can increase the scraping depth by 0.04~0.01mm. This allows you to fine-tune the scraping depth at precisely the correct angle needed for the workpiece. The Iron The HP-14 plane iron is made of hardened tool steel with a Rockwell hardness of 58 to 62. This makes the iron suitable for working with all different types of hardwoods and difficult grain patterns. The iron’s thickness is up to 15/16”, which allows for excellent stability while scraping. The primary bevel angle of the iron has been honed to 45 degrees, which provides ease of use, maintenance, and extended life of the iron. C NC Machined Stainless Steel and Anodized Aluminum Alloy The plane sole, rear tote, and all the hardware on the plane are made from CNC machined stainless steel. The rear tote has been designed with ergonomics in mind, while maintaining elegance with its polished finish. The Iron Clamping Mechanism, Angle Adjustment Mechanism, and the Side Plates are made from CNC machined aluminum alloy. The aluminum components are anodized to provide reduced friction, increased hardness, while looking exquisite. Strictly Controlled Sole Flatness To ensure that the HP-14 Scraper Plane produces a consistently smooth and even finish on a workpiece, the plane’s sole has been strictly controlled to a flatness tolerance of 0.05mm or less.
